At first glance, I thought you said "Happy Birthday, Iron!"

How did you know when the 26th element on the periodic table was invented?

hehehe.

Iron the metal was invented long long long before recorded history, if you can even use the word "invention"

More than you wanted to know
Hmm I agree, it depends on the meaning of invention.

Iron as an element is pretty old. AFAIK, according to the big bang theory it took about a billion years for stars to form, so iron has been around for maybe fourteen billion years since then.

But natural metallic iron, (unlike gold or copper) is very rare on the earth's surface because it rusts quickly. Inuit in Greenland (and probably prehistoric peoples in other places) carved off pieces of occasional meteorites to use as iron tools.

Actual processes for extracting (smelting) iron from rock require extremely hot furnace temperatures, and are only about 5000 years old, roughly the same time as the invention of writing.
