I just read Choke by Chuck Palahnuik. It's been awhile since I've read anything by a new author, seeing as how I've been engrossed in Rowling and Maguire.
This was a very very weird book. I think I liked it.

I enjoyed Lullabye though i don't really recall much of the story.

Chuck Palahniuk.The most amazing author alive. Wrote the amazing books fight club, survivor, lullaby, invisible monsters, diary, and choke. Kicks ass. I want to marry him.
When someone says something really deep yet really sarcastic, something that expresses dry humor you might say..."that was so Palahniuk."
