going up

StarClimber :)

Many of you expressed interest last year in a [super-geeky] project my brother has been working on. This is the second year of the "SPACE ELEVATOR 2010" Competition that Matthew and his team, "Starclimber" are competing in. The competition will be going on for about a week in Las Cruces, NM.

Check out the Starclimber blog and read about space elevators, the competition, etc.

If you're into space, physics, or photovoltaic cells... it's pretty interesting.

General gripings

After all the crap I went through to change my address and fix stuff with the City of Tallahassee (regarding utilities), my e-check just went through, I looked at the check on wachovia and... it lists my address from months ago. WTF.

Also, I'm mad at Wachovia b/c they charged me a $2 service fee for extra call-ins this month. Which was their fault, because they stink. But I do recall something in my student checking plan about a certain number of times I'm allowed to call per month.

Joseph is in town! He's officially a US Marine, done with boot camp, and possibly leaving for NC on the 31st, but he doesn't find out until the 29th. He may have to do something the next week in Destin, but it's possible that since something something is backed up that something happens and that he gets some extra leave time. Which would be awesome, since I don't get to see him tonight or tomorrow before he leaves.

Google Spreadsheets is down. How can I possibly be obsessed with my budget if Google Spreadhseets is down? I have stuff to add, man!

Oh, and I'm really sad because my Medusa mirror broke. Seana says it fell off the wall. I really really loved that mirror. I can't bring myself to throw it away. I want to fix it. It got me through four years of Latin and holds really great memories for me.
