Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - -discussion

I finished the book a little before seven on the morning of the 16th. I paid for it at 12:03, but didn't start reading till around 12:45 or so. Discussed the first few chapters as we read, but then once we got into the storyline, just read.. and read.

Overall, I think HBP moved up to second favorite, HP books-wise. My list now goes: 3,6,5,4,2,1. So basically each book as gotten better.. but 3 just still stands out in my mind. As a happy year. As I've said recently, I would love to read about years at Hogwarts without the worries of the dark side.

Okay. A New Yorker posted that it was humid, which inspired me to check my own Tallahassee weather. ONLY 77% humidity! That's the lowest its been in months! So, I'm going running in just a few minutes. I'm already all dressed and stuff (in the one pair of socks that I own), but I went to my car to get my iPod to find that my battery was dead. So, I'm charging it for just a few moments before I go out and run. And by run, I mean not very far. I'll resort to walking interspersed with jogging pretty soon, probably.

Does anyone else find it hard to run with iPod headphones? They always fall out of my ears. So, I use regular headphones, but I hate the way they feel on my ears. I guess it's a no-win situation.

it MEANS SOMETHING

Okay, so I'm looking through my ipod's songs, creating some new playlists.. when I see a song from the Secret Garden entitled Lily's Eyes. Looked up the lyrics while I was listening to it. First person to speak is named Neville (its a duet with his brother Archibald (who is Mary's uncle, who she went to live with when her parents died), who was (married?) to Lily (who died). Anyway, it's an interesting song. It's hazel eyes, not green, but it's talking about how her (niece?) (Mary, the main character) has her same eyes. Oh, and the story is British. I don't think the coincidences are... coincidental.

Harry Potter and Secret Garden combine!

Watch me as I gravitate ha-ha-ha-ha-haah!

PSO
I leave for Atlanta on Tuesday (day after tomorrow!). I'll be back Friday. I don't know EXACTLY what I will be doing there, but attending seminars seems to be the idea. I get to learn all about the history of Americorps. Fun. Before I leave I get to do fun things like laundry, and calling the bank. Woot.
EDIT: Holy crap, I know one thing I'll be doing there. anditut will be there at the same time that I will! When I have an evening free, we're going to meet up. In Georgia. When we both live in Florida. But ANYWAY.

HBP
Surprisingly not bringing it with me. I want to be able to concentrate and stuff, and besides, my mom wants to read it. So it's staying here. She asked me to give her a synopsis of the books so far and particularly OotP, but I don't really think it would help. It seems that HBP doesn't really need explanations, because mostly everything discussed is "new" material, and wasn't covered in past books anyway.

Hah, both of my headings so far have been three letters.

iPod
I spent a good amount of time today organizing playlists. I put all of my Harry and the Potters music onto it, plus some other CDs I had around. I miss all the songs I used to have before they were brutally deleted. I also downloaded some new stuff (I think Sara has me addicted to Feel Good Inc. by the Gorillaz.

I went running today, for the first time in awhile. Didn't go very far, but it felt good to be back out there. I've been lazy recently, and my hips know it. So does the scale. I'm the heaviest I've been since coming home (although still lighter than in Gainesville before I left).

Greenzap: Has anyone actually used it to buy anything yet? I can't find anything that takes GreenZap. I guess we have to wait until their "stores" open this "summer" (isn't it already summer?).

I need to clean my room. It seems like a constant chore. But atleast my room stays looking fairly nice. Not like in the old days of living at home. Heh. So, there's one good thing that came out of Gainesville. Not that I was lacking for them before. I made some amazing friends :)
