Fay update

The rain has stopped to a drizzle, after over ten inches of rain. There's a lake outside my house, parts of major streets are closed down, there have been flash flood, tornado, and all kinds of other warnings. Two people have died, fortunately most people have only lost electricity.

And it's not over yet. Gadsden County just issued a 6 pm curfew, The Emergency Management team was sent home because if they didn't go, they probably wouldn't be able to leave until tomorrow. There are bands of rainfall, worse than before, headed our way.

Cell phones are charging to their fullest. Sara is on her way to work. Everyone I have talked to seems well, and I hope we continue to weather the storm. So here's luck to everyone. Stay safe. Don't leave the house unless you have to.

Total rainfall is expected around 20-25 inches.

The last line of the update issued at 5:55pm says, "THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION."

yeah, my mom just called to say that the streets in her neighborhood were flooded. She's in 32311, so I'm guessing that's the other end of town from you.

You haven't mentioned anything about it, so I'm assuming your house is safe! I certainly don't miss that kind of stuff about Tallahassee…hope you stay okay and as dry as can be!

Park is flooded (at Richview). And Capital Circle is flooded at Miccosukee, as in, a vast lake.

Nope, didn't need sandbags -- the water flooded my yard, but didn't touch near where my door was, luckily. It would have taken quite a bit more.

the emergency management team was.... sent home? isn't the point of an emergency management team to manage in an emergency? they should be prepared to stay overnight (many nights) if they have to!

glad you are okay, stay safe.

This is just what I heard from mom, who heard it from Sheri Coven, who works there.
