Jan. 25th, 2008

I'm feeling somewhat better. My fever has still been hovering around the 100~101 range, which sounds bad, but after the few days I've had, it's really not. I'll take a fever over fever+throwing up ANYDAY.

I totally agree. Puking sucks. Glad you're starting to mend.

Glad you're feeling better...could have been worse, you could have been leaking out of both ends!

One of my best stories is when, in February, 2005, I got food poisoning. My mom came over and took care of me most of the day, and then when I couldn't keep water down (I was literally vomiting water), it was time to go to the hospital. During my two-hour wait in the ER, I drifted in and out of consciousness and soiled myself twice.

After finally getting a room, getting cleaned up and everything, I lay down in the bed and realize, I have to go...like right now. The rush is so urgent that I run, sans gown, apparently leaving a little trail behind me as I went yelling, "No, no, no, I need the bathroom first!" as an orderly helped an old lady in a walker towards the door.

I get in, and while going the first thing, the smell hits me and I realize I am about to vomit. So, I scooted back as far as I could and tried to vomit in the space between my legs. That didn't work. So then I just leaned over and vomited on my earlier "spill" as the floodgates let loose before I could get on the john.

Needless to say, the walk back to my room has to have been the most embarassing 29 steps of my life. (I was sans gown, remember.) The only shower available was on the third floor and a highly attractive nurse not only walked me there, but watched me shower to ensure all was well.

I tell you I could have died!
