So, I won a cruise.

I don't want it, and it's fully transferrable. Yes, I'm giving it away.

It's a cruise to the Bahamas for two people, 4 days, 3 nights. You cruise to the Bahamas (6 hrs), they put you up in a hotel for 3 nights, and cruise back. All meals and entertainment on the ship are free.

You can leave any M/W/F from Ft. Lauderdale. There are no blackout dates.

There's a $77.50 administration fee for each person, and $99 in port taxes.
(It's about $100 cheaper per person than if you had bought the same cruise, from what I can tell after looking for cruises this past year)

Basically, they're getting rid of the excess rooms on the ship that didn't sell for the regular price. They might as well make *some* money and assume you'll spend money on alcohol in the lounge, or in gift shops, or whatever. There's no timeshare presentation or any of that.

You can listen to the recorded shpiel about the cruise at 727-450-6139. It basically covers everything I just wrote above.

If you want the confirmation number, comment. First come first serve.

yeah. it's like I won "money off" -- but still, if someone has the rest of the money, the time, etc. to go, its still a good deal.

they said you have to put $77.50 (one persons admin fee) down within four days from when I won the cruise. The other $77.50 is due within 30 days, and the other $200 is due when you choose your date.

well, I'm not paying anything. If someone wants it, they pay the fees.

well, yes. If someone wants it they need to claim it within 4 days, and pay $77.50 of the total cost at that time.

I don't care whether someone takes it or not, so I don't need luck. But thanks.

yeah but even if she doesn't pay the fee, it's not like she's in trouble or something. she just doesn't get the cruise.

but yeah, that's kind of weird, to "win" a cruise but still have to pay admin fees and taxes. craaaaazy

I agree with masterific, it sounds like a scam. Administration fee? Who would you be paying that to? And who is sponsoring it all? What cruise line is it with?

It's not an administration fee. It's federal taxes and port fees, which the cruise line cannot "give away."

I used to work for Carnival Cruise Line. I know. :)

I guess since she said "$77.50 administration fee" I assumed it was just that, an administration fee.

They said that the taxes & port fees were the $99 and that the $77.50 was an administration fee.
