After dress shopping I went to Publix, which was very much needed. I'd been putting it off for a few weeks, mostly because I didn't even have an hour of time to spare. I loaded up on fresh fruits and veggies, feeling ever so bad about putting them in the little plastic bags. And then feeling worse when I realized I forgot my "Green Bags" at home. But I did get a lot of fresh, good food. I'm also excited about the Amy's veggie pot pie I bought. I've never had one before because they aren't kosher (generally have milk/cream in with the meat), so I was excited to see a Veggie one, especially since I've been looking for something warm that I can eat at work on days that I don't get to leave for lunch. It's weird nostalgia for a childhood that never was, or an opportunity I'm finally getting the chance to have, or something.
Then in the evening, I went over to my parents house. They were having people over for Shabbat dinner, so they invited me and I joined them. Got to figure out a lot of the upcoming scheduling for weddings, bridal showers, baby showers, trips, football games, etc. I am only slightly overwhelmed. Who says I can't handle all that plus two jobs and school? SUPERHUMANMELISSA.
Tomorrow I have a birthday party, then some projects I need to work on, and then.... Bridesmaids dress shopping with Samantha and possibly Sara if she's not too tired. I tried on two dresses today and realized how much I missed formal dresses. I looked so pretty! Dude, and GET THIS. The first dress I tried on... THE BUST WAS TOO BIG. That hasn't happened to me since like 11th grade, it was shocking. Also I was happy because the dress was a size smaller than usual :)
I have Deborah October 20th - 27th while our parents are on their cruise to the Bahamas. Luckily there's someone who goes to Deb's school who lives around the corner from me, so I'll either drop her off at 6:30 in the morn before I go to work, or they'll pick her up here on their way. Yay for not having to leave here at 5:45 to get her to school super early so I can get to work on time.
Have I mentioned how much I love having Fridays off? You would not believe how many times I thought it was Sunday, today. Like, I must have told a gazillion store people that the wedding was "a week from today" -- I honestly thought today was Sunday. Silly, silly Melissa.
I just watched Ugly Betty. If you've seen it, you know how I'm feeling. If you haven't, I'm not going to spoil it like SOME people (coughspf8cough).
Oh, and some assistant pastor at Christian Heritage (ahem) tried to friend me today on Facebook. Apparently we have friends in common, as in old high school acquaintances of mine I haven't talked to in years. He told me that we should be friends because G-d blessed us with communication (did you guys know Mark Zuckerberg was G-d?). Sigh. He got sad and a bit defensive when I told him my facebook friends were the same as my real life friends.
