It's nice to feel needed, but sheesh. I feel like I'm being constantly pulled in every direction. I'm not sure if this is better or worse than being bored all day.

Culinary school, as fun as it would be, is not for me. At least, not now. I forgot how expensive private universities are, and I just can't afford $7000 per semester, and that much in loans is also a ridiculous idea. Other than cost, I would have loved it. Does anyone want to donate about 30k to the cause?

I'm looking at classes for the fall. I'm trying to find out if the web-based classes I'm registered for are 100% web-based, or if they're going to be like the ones I had signed up for this summer, where you have to go in to take tests and write essays and stuff. I'm not really interested in the latter idea, because my time is too precious to hunt for parking.

August 3rd I am taking two CLEP exams. I think it's stupid that I have the credit amounts to graduate but not the right courses, but even if I take the CLEP exams for the specific credits I need, I still have to fulfill the residency requirement. It's annoyingly frustrating that I probably won't be done until December of 08. 6.5 years to get a community college degree. Of course, then I'll be still taking forever at FSU or FAM because I still am going to have to start over with classes in a completely new field (which one, I have no idea).

You're working full time and you've bought a house, it's not like you're just slacking off outside of class. And at least the slow pace will give you more time to think about where you want to go next.

Side thought: You like cooking and writing. Would you want to write a book about food?

Full time AND part time. But yes, I know I'm not slacking off. And I know that a year of that shouldn't even count, because I was doing Americorps. It just still seems weird that people two years below me will be finishing their bachelors before I finish my AA.

Don't let what others are doing get to you. Also, you work full time and part time? That's just crazy! You'll finish college when you finish. If you've got a house and you're happy, what's the rush?

It's just work stuff. I think my next step is to ask for another raise.

And I've realized that I'll finish when I finish. It's just frustrating. I want a job that I enjoy, and I can't really do that without a degree.

you don't enjoy the job you have now?

I don't not like it. Good friends, good pay, good benefits... it's just not something I want to do forever. I want to, as corny as this sounds, "make a difference."

It's not corny if it's true.
