Well, crap. The 220V plug outside is being used by my AC, and both can't use it at once. Well, unless I want to get electrocuted... ::ponders::

This means it can't be split so I can have a 110V*.

Which means I need to get a 110V plug installed/run from the breaker/whatever out to the outside of my house. Which could be useful anyway, for music or a fan or anything else electrical that I would want to run outside.

But yeah. $391.40. OUCH. Having another electrician come out tomorrow to give me an estimate, and make sure they say that the same thing needs to be done.

*The guy thought it was freaking hilarious that hot tubs exist that run on a 110.

Hot tub: $2800
Having it delivered: $200
Extended warranty: $200
Cement pad poured: $350
Electrical outlet installed: $400
Tax, steps, chemicals, and kosher salt: $300
Climbing into the hot tub with friends and margaritas for countless nights of fabulous debauchery: PRICELESS

Oh gosh it BETTER be priceless.

110 Hot Tubs work just fine, we use them @ our resort. The only down side is they take a lot of time to initially heat up (about 12 hours) (at least ours do).

But most people just keep them Hot all the time :-) so no worries!

Yep, I plan to just keep mine running after it initially heats :)

I know, right!!!

It better be awesome, and it better get used often, even if I have to kidnap people and throw them in.

Ouch indeed. I thought the hot tub was going to be in the sunroom?

Are you sure there's no outside 110 volt outlet? Mom and Dad have a bunch; my place has one in front and one in back that I use to plug in the lawnmower. Weird that they didn't put any on yours.

If you're going to keep it hot all the time, be sure to get a good, insulated cover so it doesn't lose lots of heat to the outside air.

The sunroom is now incredibly gorgeous and floored nicely and painted. I want to use it for something else (though I'm unsure what) and put my hot tub outside.

I got a great cover :)

Yeah, the electricians looked and couldn't find one. I have one 220V plug that is being used for my AC, and that's it.
