This morning was scary. It started out per usual, waking up, taking a shower... However, I guess my shower was just too hot or something, and I was starting to feel sick to my stomach. I gave myself a mental slap on the wrist, and continued to start my day. Soon after getting dressed, I started feeling really hot and broke into a sweat. I turned on my AC, walked into my kitchen and poured myself some ginger ale to settle my stomach, and then suddenly got a wave of dizziness, and needed to sit down for several minutes before being able to get up and get to my car to come to work. It was really all very scary. Does anyone know what this could have been caused by? Too hot of a shower? Or what? I didn't eat very much yesterday but it's not like I was fainting from lack of food.

A few sips of ginger ale and probably less than 3 minutes later I was perfectly well and fine.

Only three days left until I get to see my grown-up three-year old niece, Kalina!
Oh yeah, and also Matthew, Naomi, Vivi, and Alan (though I'm not quite sure which days Alan is coming)

I got my desired way and we will of course NOT be spending Passover with family friends that my older siblings don't even know. I can't believe my mother was going to give up all our crazy Pesach traditions just because we were invited somewhere else. uh, NO THANKS. I can't believe VIVI was going to go along with it. I was upset at the idea of this and I'd be really upset if we went over there for a Passover seder, so we compromised and we'll be going over to their house next Friday during Pesach. Which I don't mind at all.

We never ended up making a Passover Haggadah supplemental to the best Haggadah ever, Maxwell House. We always talk about making a parody or over emphasizing our favorite parts (who knoweth fourteen? dip the gerbil in the salt water! I am, like, *valley girl laugh* a man of seventy years of age! mountains like rams, hills like lambs!)

Pesach will be good for the "low carb" thing. Heh.

Maybe it's a Melissa thing
random dizziness?
Did anything change, life-style wise?

:( I hope you feel better. Luckily my dizziness passed within a few minutes.

not eating a lot the day before mixed with a hot shower early in the morning seems like the likely culprit to me. That has happened to me before as well. Glad it passed.

I can't wait to see you all also!

*sigh* Four days. After all the internet-and-airline mess, we were able to find a moderately cheap flight into Jacksonville Saturday afternoon; Mom says she'll pick us up.

Looking forward to seeing everybody :)

Ah. Well, what's one more day? At least you found a flight. It would be much worse and a much shorter weekend had you needed to drive.

I might come with her, depending on space. If she takes the van I probably will. And she'll probably take the van. Roadtrip!

Diane's not planning on coming to the seder, but don't tell mom. Apparently she's not telling mom till Monday afternoon. AND she's staying in a hotel this weekend. She said she "can't take three hours of religion." I didn't have the heart to tell her that it normally lasts longer than that, but I chuckled on the inside.

Diane's not planning on coming to the seder

WTH. If she's got so much social anxiety or whatever that she can't handle a seder, then she could at least be polite enough to tell Mom and Dad ahead of time.

And if she just doesn't like religion I think she should suck it up and come anyway for the sake of spending time with the family. We can argue instead of preaching. We can have lots of fun arguing. But not if she's hiding in a hotel room all weekend.

I know, seriously. But since when is she polite? At least if she doesn't come she won't be sitting there plotting with any other guests to leave early and steal them too.

exactly. I think we just have to accept that Aunt Diane is a sociopath.

She didn't want mom to get mad at her or try to convince her. And I'm pretty sure Dad and Diane are only civil when they have to be, and otherwise don't talk or even show up to dinner onteh same nights.

I told her it wasn't religion as much as tradition, and she said she didn't want to take that either. She said she'd "come over for a couple hours on Saturday" so at least she wasn't planning on completely avoiding you.

Ugh. Is it really that bad between her and Dad? If so, she should really move out ASAP. Maybe it's better that she won't be at the seder.

I will be coming to pick up my brother and his family from the airport. I won't be in Jacksonville for longer than an hour presumably.

I will be there April 12-14 at State Latin Forum, though.

uh huh. There was a pretty big scandal between the hotel and the State Chairs, and then there was nowhere else to hold it in Orlando. So we're in jax this year. No word on if it's moving back the next year.

I'm going to go with low blood sugar and tie that in with a hot shower...I get that a lot.

it was incredibly scary, esp since it had never happened before. I take hot showers every day, you'd think on at least one of the (22 1/3)(365) days of my life I would have had lower blood sugar or something.

Eh. Maybe not. Did you get out of bed really fast? Maybe your equalilbrum (sp?) was off? I've had that happen. Jump out of bed, into the shower and then be all dizzy.

it seems like that would happen more quickly. This was after I was already showered and dressed and leaving for work.

On a random note, do you know any good ways to tell fake Kate Spades apart from real ones?

The easiest way to tell is the tag on the front. If it's glued on, it's fake. Real ones are sewn on. If you go to ebay.com, look up the seller elviscostellofan. She used to have good information about telling real from fake.

thanks. My little sister found one at Goodwill and got super excited, until she realized it was likely a fake.

I have 2 nylon ones I'm interesting in getting rid of if she's interested. They need a little TLC but they are real.
