In good news, I got my way! With a little tweaking of the system, I can continue in my Educational Technology class, even though I'm not in that major. I've already finished the first several assignments, and don't have anything due till the 29th.
There's a guy here (at work) detailing cars. He said that if Kia and I got 10 people to sign up, he'd wash our cars for free. I'm hoping he'll vacuum too (or instead), if I beg. Padfoot hair is all over the place.
I have to buy the textbook for my online class. I'm waiting back to hear from the professor if the 3rd edition will be an adequate substitution for the 4th. It's about $68 cheaper. So that'd be good. Either way, it's still expensive. And speaking of expenses...
Bob The Car has to go back in to Saturn. My brakes are squealing. Yes, the same brakes that I had fixed less than three months ago. Luckily the parts (& labor, I would hope) are under warranty. If they try to charge me for the same thing twice, Evil!Melissa will show through.
I'm concerned that in addition to my brakes, there's something wrong with a belt. In the morning (and only in the morning, after not driving it for awhile) I hear this spinning noise. So I guess I'll get that checked out too.
Unless it's going to kill me in the near future, I really don't have the money to spend on a new belt or whatever it is I may happen to need. Actually, I don't have the money to spend on it even if it is going to kill me, but I will anyway. I can give up lots of things in the pursuit of staying alive.
How did life get so expensive?
