Hello, my name is Melissa, and I'm addicted to livejournal.
I'm back in school after a 2.5 year hiatus. I expected to find myself and figure out what I wanted to do with my life during that time. I figured out that I have no idea what I wanted to do with my life, and that myself was hiding very well. The major of the moment is Creative Writing. I figure that even if I garner no skill, I'll at least figure out how to make my resume wonderfully received.
I just quit my corporate job of three years. It was great experience and wonderful for learning and padding my resume, but I really wanted to be back in school full time. Time for me to get a couple more degrees!
I recently spent a year as an Americorps VISTA member, working for Literacy Volunteers of Leon County. I did all kinds of stuff, including writing grants, running a Family Learning Center, tutoring GED students, running workshops, writing tutor training programs, organizing events, and overall, helping America close the poverty gap. It was an amazing year of living in poverty, being terribly sleep deprived, and changing lives- in a good way, I hope.

Hello, my name is Melissa, and I'm addicted to livejournal.
