yucky things.

I got rear-ended yesterday on my way to my exam. Great. My car wasn't very damaged but my wrist hurts really badly. The appraiser is coming out tomorrow to look at my car, and on Wednesday I will get my wrist x-rayed. I can't do it tonight, because I have another class. This is all very frustrating and I feel like crying about it whenever I think about it. Ugh.

As for the midterm, I think I did okay. Honestly I would be happy with a C. Now that I know what his midterms are like, hopefully I will only improve my scores. But for this one, yeah. I'm just going to hope I passed.

EDIT: My dad just called, he said they called HIM about the car and that I need to take it somewhere. No. NO way. Now I'm mad.

State Farm, but it doesn't matter. This is all going through the guy's insurance company, which is The Hartford.

are they making YOU deal directly with The Hartford???

if so, that's fucked up. FL's a no-fault state, which is SUPPOSED to mean that you deal with your insurance company only. your insurance company is supposed to deal with THEIR insurance company; and a good insurance company would fight with the company of the party who caused the accident to get you the best pay-out and service possible.

the last accident I had which wasn't my fault, my insurance company made sure I got a fair value pay-out from the other insurance company when my car was totaled. my insurance company also paid for my rental for a month, and then made the other company pay them back for the rental costs. I never EVER had to deal with the other person's insurance.

I'd prefer to deal with theirs, honestly. I'm pissy at State Farm right now. I've never had trouble dealing with someone else's insurance, and they didn't find it odd at all.

side note: I've heard more bad things in the last year or so about State Farm's service from people I know who've had insurance with them than I ever have.

It used to be great, and now not so much. Especially since they are not going to have home insurance anymore.

You probably already know this, but: when the guy's insurance company pays you, they will try to get you to sign a waiver saying that you aren't hurt as a result of the accident. You don't have to sign it, and they still have to pay you. So don't sign it.
