does your job influence your political opinion? does your political opinion influence the job you do? the job you apply for? can your job change your political opinion? can your political opinion sway you to change jobs? do you find more of one persuasion in a kind of job? does the job itself mimic gov't and in how you do your job do you act in a certain political way?

My political and other personal opinions definitely influence the type of jobs I apply for, and if I end up in a job that supports those opinions, then my job can serve to reinforce those opinions or teach me something additional.
I have noticed that I am much happier in a job where I have a personal connection to what I'm doing, whether that's political, lifestyle, or other opinion. I like to see how my specific position influences or is influenced by the community or world around me, as opposed to number-crunching, sales, etc.
Have to ask…was this post influenced by my recent job announcement?

does your job influence your political opinion? no

does your political opinion influence the job you do? no

the job you apply for? not really... i am really all about the money

can your job change your political opinion? it can... i enjoyed working in the gov office... though most people arent that find of Jeb bush i really though he was pretty cool in many ways. currently my job just kinda makes me feel like law makers are simply out of touch with working people and the struggle of the middle and lower class (and this isnt really new)

can your political opinion sway you to change jobs? yes

do you find more of one persuasion in a kind of job? kinda but not really

does the job itself mimic gov't and in how you do your job do and in how you do your job do you act in a certain political way? yes, currently i am working at a public/ private corp. there is a bit of politicing in it and i certainly have to kinda keep things in line with company rhetoric in a way...

I work at a golf resort, so you know it's Republican central. Surprisingly, a lot of the folks I interact with are still Obama supporters.

I could really go through paragraphs of philosophical theory here, but the gist of it is that I don't believe where I work has that much impact on my political views.

My social views, however. Yeah. Big time.

As a server, it is best to keep my opinions to myself in order to get a tip... I'm in it for the money, even as much as I hate it, it pays the bills.
